About APOWAAnandavanam is a layout formed near the quaint old town of Bheemunipatnam more than a decade ago. It comprises around 200 plots of land with mango and other fruit bearing plants. The plots are in an idyllic location with a panoramic scenery on all sides and a club house that can be used by plot owners on taking permission from the developer. It was felt that the plot owners would benefit from forming an association to look after the interests of the plot owners. Anandavanam Plot Owners Welfare Association (APOWA) is a registered society with registration number 185 of 2012. The association is funded by members who pay an annual maintenance fee for general housekeeping of the layout, which involves keeping the roads motorable, removing of wild growth, clearing the drains of fallen leaves and watering of the plants. The staff that live within the layout also drive away grazing cattle and provide basic security. The association, with the support of all members, hopes to expand its scope over time and take up development work such as black-topping of roads and providing underground electrical cabling.
